Artist Documentation for Dollup

Step-by-step guidance for signup, subscription, dashboard setup, bookings, and policies on Dollup.

Last updated: May 21, 2026

Your journey (overview)

Follow these steps in order after you decide to join. Each section below expands on the details.

  1. Create your artist account

Register at /artist/register using phone (OTP), email and password, or Google.

  2. Choose a plan and complete payment

New accounts go to /artist/plans to subscribe to Basic or Pro (monthly or yearly checkout via Razorpay). You need an active subscription to reach the dashboard.

  3. Sign in when you return

Use /artist/login with email and password or Google. If you used phone signup, add an optional email during registration so password login and recovery are easier.

  4. Complete profile verification (do this first on the dashboard)

Open the Verification tab in your dashboard (/artist/dashboard?tab=verification) and submit social profile links plus work videos. Profile verification is required for public visibility and admin approval.

  5. Complete profile, bank, and locations

Add payout bank details and at least one service address so bookings and payouts can work correctly.

  6. List services, portfolio, and availability

Set up services, showcase work in your portfolio, and configure availability so clients can discover and book you.

  7. Admin review

After you submit verification and complete your profile, our team reviews your account. You may remain in pending until an admin approves you. You will be notified by email and dashboard messages when your status updates.

Registration: methods and requirements

Open Join as Artist and pick one path. You must accept the Terms and Privacy policy where the form asks you to.

Option A — Phone (recommended default)

  1. Enter your phone number and confirm you agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
  2. Tap Send OTP and enter the code you receive.
  3. Enter your first name, last name, and (optionally) email, then choose how you found Dollup from the dropdown.
  4. Submit to create your account. You are redirected to choose a subscription plan (see next section).

Option B — Email and password

  1. Switch the toggle to Email on the registration page.
  2. Fill in name, email, password (and confirmation), and how you heard about Dollup.
  3. Create your account. You are then taken to plans and payment.

Option C — Continue with Google

Use Continue with Google on the registration page to sign up with your Google account (same option exists on the login page). After Google completes, you'll complete the same plan step as other signups.

Requirements and conditions

  • Professional experience: You should be a professional makeup artist (MUA).
  • Accurate details: Use real name and contact details you monitor.
  • Phone verification: Phone signup uses OTP to verify your number.
  • Subscription: You need an active paid plan (Basic or Pro) before the app treats your account as fully onboarded for the dashboard.
  • Profile verification: Submit social links and work videos in the dashboard Verification tab before your profile can go live publicly.
  • Admin approval: Accounts may stay in pending until Dollup reviews and approves your artist account.
  • Complete your presence: Add services, portfolio, availability, payout bank details, and at least one address for a strong profile.

After you register

  • You complete plan selection and payment on the plans page unless you already have an active subscription.
  • On the dashboard, complete profile verification first (social links and work videos), then finish profile, bank, and listing setup.
  • You may receive messages by email, SMS where applicable, or inside the dashboard.
  • Approval stays pending until an administrator finishes review; once approved you can operate according to platform rules.
  • If an application cannot be accepted, Dollup may share the reason so you can fix issues or reapply.

Profile verification process

Profile verification is separate from phone OTP at signup. After you have an active subscription and can access the dashboard, complete verification in the Verification tab (open Verification). Admin approval and verification are both required before your profile becomes publicly visible to customers.

  1. Open the Verification tab

Sign in at /artist/login and go to Verification in the dashboard sidebar (or use ?tab=verification).

  2. Add social media profile links

Enter one or more valid https:// URLs to profiles where your work is visible (for example Instagram, YouTube, or a portfolio site). Use the + button to add more rows. Duplicate URLs are not allowed.

  3. Upload work videos

Upload at least one video showing your makeup work. Supported formats: MP4, WebM, or MOV. Each file can be up to 100MB. You may upload multiple videos. Videos are stored securely and reviewed by our team.

  4. Accept the copyright declaration

Check the box confirming that your uploaded videos belong to you and do not violate copyright policies. Submission is blocked until you accept this declaration.

  5. Submit for verification

Tap Submit for verification. Your status changes to Pending Verification while Dollup reviews your links and videos. You cannot edit the submission while it is pending; wait for the review outcome.

  6. Complete the rest of your onboarding

While verification is in review (or before you submit), continue with profile details, bank details, addresses, services, portfolio, and availability. These steps support admin approval and bookings once you are live.

Verification statuses

  • Unverified: You have not submitted verification yet, or you have not resubmitted after a decision.
  • Pending Verification: Your links and videos are with the review team. You will be notified when the review is complete.
  • Verified: Profile verification passed. Your public profile can meet visibility rules when your account is also approved.
  • Need More Videos: Admin requested additional work videos. Read the note in the Verification tab, add videos, and submit again.
  • Rejected: Verification was not accepted. Review the admin note, update your links or videos, and resubmit when ready.

Resubmission

If your status is Need More Videos or Rejected, return to the Verification tab, update your social links and/or videos, accept the copyright declaration again, and tap Submit for verification. You cannot resubmit while status is Pending Verification or after you are already Verified (contact support if you need changes approved again).

Verification vs account approval

Profile verification confirms your social presence and work samples. Account approval is the separate admin decision that activates your artist account on the platform. Both are required for full public visibility and booking eligibility according to current platform rules.

Video tutorials: Sign up

Phone sign up

OTP flow on /artist/register: verify your number, name, optional email, then continue to plans.

Email sign up

Switch to email mode, create your account with password, then proceed to subscription.

Artist plans and payment

Dollup routes new artists—and returning artists without an active plan—to /artist/plans. Pricing (including any founder pricing) loads from our servers and shown on that page.

  1. Compare Basic and Pro and read the comparison table on the plans page.
  2. Choose monthly or yearly billing when you pay.
  3. Tap subscribe on your chosen plan — Razorpay Checkout opens in your browser.
  4. Complete payment. On success you'll reach the confirmation screen and can proceed to your dashboard.
  5. If you close checkout or verification fails, you may see a cancellation page—retry from Plans or contact support.

Why this step exists

The dashboard checks that your subscription record is active. Signing in without a plan redirects you here so every working artist chooses the product tier that fits them.

Logging in later

Use /artist/login with your email and password if you registered with email, or Sign in with Google if you use Google on Dollup. Forgot your password? Open Forgot password from the login form.

Tip: If you joined with phone OTP only, entering an optional email during signup keeps email login and recovery available.

  • Profile Visibility: Ratings appear on your artist profile page and in search results
  • Service Ratings: Individual service listings also display ratings specific to those services
  • Review Responses: You can respond to customer reviews to address feedback or thank clients
  • Impact on Discoverability: Higher ratings can improve your visibility in search results, but ratings are not guarantees of future bookings
